Deeply Touched

I was giving a quiz in English class yesterday when I felt an abdominal pain due to menstruation. I tried to hide what I felt because I didn’t like the idea that my students would see me crying. Almost fifteen minutes passed, I couldn’t bear the pain anymore. Thus, I burst into tears.

The silence in the room was deafening. I was lying on the five chairs that were being placed side by side.

I was deeply touched when Brenlyn together with her classmates  Pearly and Angel [I forgot the other one] handed to me a cellophane with “Luba capsules.” She was catching her breath and was sweating when she told me to take the herbal capsules.

When I was in deep pain, I did not know that four girls in my class went to the house of Brenlyn. They ran almost two kilometers just to take the medicine for me.

I was deeply touched.

10:40

It’s late in the evening. But, here I am, feeling haggard because of browsing articles about tracer studies. I have to revise my RRL as recommended by the panel of examiners last September 18th.

Well, I am not doing purely business here. I am also checking my facebook account.

Congrats!

Congratulations to Vincent Paul Tigas for being the 2nd place of the vocal solo competition during the Digos Occidental Communication Arts Festival held @ Colorado Elementary School, Digos City on November 18, 2009. He is a grade V pupil of J. Alberca Elementary School.

Roldan, me and Paul

Congratulations too to Roldan Piyayao, a grade I pupil, for being confident in delivering his piece in storytelling. Even if he didn’t make it to the top, still, I would like to congratulate him.

Kudos!

Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Hehehe..I must have posted this message last October 5th.

For Oct. 5, 2009—-For all the teachers, HAPPY TEACHERS’ DAY!

In our school, we had a one-day celebration of this momentous occasion. The Supreme Student Government led by Shema May Bangcas, a grade six pupil, prepared a program for us, teachers.

In the morning, each class had a presentation- dance, song, poem. After each class presentation, each teacher was told to sit on the wooden chair situated at the center of the stage. A student gave his/her tribute to his/her teacher. Then, the students gave flowers to their teachers.

Brenlyn was the one who gave a tribute to me. She thanked me for the things that I’ve shared to them.

I received letters from Shema, Brenlyn and Bea. I also received a bouquet of roses from Paul (grade V pupil) and Elaine (Grade VI pupil). I was so grateful, too to accept the bunch of bananas from Ainess.

All of the teachers ate lunch at our “all-around room”. It’s “all-around” because it’s where our canteen is located. It is where we hold our meetings. It is where we place our kitchen utensils. It is also the place where we place some books and other instructional materials.

In the afternoon, we had fun games. All the teachers including our principal played parlor games in the stage. The SSG officers facilitated the games. I won once only.Heheheh…

Innocent Sheila

One of my Grade V students named Sheila Tanggaro approached me yesterday afternoon while I was applying a red lipstick on my lips.

She said, “Ma’am, di ko mueskwela ugma.” (“Ma’am, I will not go to school tomorrow.”)

“Y man?” I asked. (Why?)

“Wala na man gud mi’y bugas (We don’t have rice anymore.),” she answered directly and went away.

I was not able to utter a word.

On DepEd Night

It was one of the unforgettable nights I had. I joined the production number of the DepeEd Night last September 2, 2009. I was a one of the models of the “Fashion Guro”. I think there were more or less thirty among us who participated in the said presentation.

I wore a long black dress. It was sleeveless. It had glitters, too. I walked like a model at the newly-created stage of Rizal Park, Digos City. I danced “Nobody, nobody but you!” Hahaha! What an experience. Of course, I did it with my fellow models.

New Teacher

I have a new co-teacher now at JRAES. Her name is Mrs. Rosabella M. Quion. She is married and she has one son. She’s living at Ebreo Village, Digos City. I call her Ate Rosabella.

The Blog Below

The blog below entitled “A Night with Boubert and Paul” was the product of my demonstration on how to use the wordpress account. I was at the faculty lounge of CJC when Boubert asked me last week on how to post an article in wordpress. That time, Sir Paul Olvis was a seat away from me who was also busy chatting with his friend @ facebook. So, when I demonstrated how to use the said website for blogging, Paul also took a glimpse on how to do it.

Ate Ann

I call her Ate Ann. Her complete name is Mary Ann Gonzales-Misner. She is in USA now. She left for US last Friday.

Last July 16, 2009 we (teachers of JRAES) conducted a short programme for her. Here are some of the pictures.
